RTDB

The Real Time Database (RTDB) is a technology conceived and developed by
Control Products Unlimited, Inc.  It houses all process information shared by
the applications comprising the
CPUtilities suite of products.

The RTDB began life in the early 90's as a DOS based, terminate stay resident
(TSR) application named
CPUtil.  Utilizing the NetBIOS protocol to distribute
process data to clients across a local area network,
CPUtil was responsible
for device communications and maintained a memory resident repository of
process data.

Today, the RTDB has evolved as a
COM Server marshaling process data to
both local and remote applications.  Each data point defined in a
CPUtilities
project is indexed in a memory based table for efficient and responsive
access.
